I just watched a robot vacuum pick up a brush and sweep in a corner, and this might be the future of cleaning

  • The Dreame Cyber10 Ultra is a robot vacuum with a mechanical arm
  • It has a pincer to move clutter, but can also select detail tools to sweep or dust with
  • It’s a little slow and clunky, but plenty of potential

For the past year or so, robot vacuum brands have been weirdly preoccupied with adding mechanical arms to their bots. So far, we’ve only seen one example actually make it to market – the Roborock Saros Z70, which I found looked cool but wasn’t actually that useful in practice (it hasn’t made it into my best robot vacuum recommendations list).

However, I’ve just seen Dreame’s take on the idea at IFA 2025, and it adds some new functionality that could change my mind about arm-equipped robot vacuums.
