    India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.11% By Investing.com



    Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

    At the close in NSE, the fell 0.11%, while the index lost 0.03%.

    The best performers of the session on the were Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:), which rose 3.17% or 130.60 points to trade at 4,253.00 at the close. Meanwhile, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) added 1.39% or 20.10 points to end at 1,461.90 and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) was up 1.18% or 16.75 points to 1,432.85 in late trade.

    The worst performers of the session were Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:), which fell 2.66% or 89.95 points to trade at 3,295.00 at the close. Wipro Ltd (NS:) declined 2.16% or 10.00 points to end at 453.65 and SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) was down 2.11% or 30.25 points to 1,406.00.

    The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which rose 1.44% to 1,462.50, Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.00% to settle at 1,186.00 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which gained 0.87% to close at 6,897.80.

    The worst performers were Wipro Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.13% to 453.65 in late trade, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:) which lost 1.36% to settle at 1,466.30 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was down 1.23% to 2,548.30 at the close.

    Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1398 to 822 and 57 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2192 fell and 1625 advanced, while 134 ended unchanged.

    Shares in Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.17% or 130.60 to 4,253.00. Shares in Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.00% or 11.75 to 1,186.00.

    The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 6.83% to 23.19 a new 52-week high.

    Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.51% or 11.80 to $2,346.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.40 to hit $78.12 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.47 to trade at $82.31 a barrel.

    USD/INR was up 0.08% to 83.13, while EUR/INR rose 0.15% to 90.24.

    The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.58.
