According to BSE insider trading data, Kathpalia sold nearly 950,000 shares valued at ₹134 crore between May 24, 2023, and June 25, 2024, while buying 396,000 shares worth ₹34 crore. Similarly, Khurana sold 550,000 shares for ₹82 crore over 2023-24 and purchased 238,000 shares worth ₹25 crore.
The shares bought and sold were part of the employee stock option plan (ESOPs). The bank did not respond to ET’s queries.
This week, the bank disclosed that it had discovered discrepancies in its derivatives portfolio, potentially resulting in a ₹1,600 crore hole in its balance sheet, with the entire provisioning hit to be taken in the March quarter.
The discrepancies were identified between September and October 2024, Kathpalia who recently secured a one-year extension by the RBI, explained during an analyst call on Monday.
