It’s Official: Halo Returns In 2027 With Halo: Fireteam Noble

There are just a few days to go until the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved and with our very own Chris Carter calling it “A Master Foundation With Modern Oddities” in his review, it seems as though fans of 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved are about to be impressed with the new-and-improved version.

“Halo: Campaign Evolved is in a very weird spot, given that it doesn’t have competitive multiplayer as a selling point,” our review reads, with 7/10 being our final score for this upcoming release. “Once you’re done with the campaign and the short new spread of missions, you’re going to have to start replaying what you have. For some people, replaying Halo for years on end with different partners is a treasured pastime. For others, it’s an experience you may want to try down the line at a reduced cost.”

It seems as though Halo has changed quite a lot since its original launch back in the early 2000s, but if you are looking for a safe FPS to get stuck into later this month, it is worth keeping an eye on Halo: Campaign Evolved.

In the meantime, however, there is another exciting Halo-themed release to look forward to courtesy of author Troy Denning. It is none other than Halo: Fireteam Noble, a brand-new entry in the ongoing Halo book franchise. Here is what the official synopsis reads:

2560. The galaxy remains fractured in the devastating wake of Cortana’s rise and the Created menace, while the Banished war machine relentlessly consolidates power across former Covenant space. To help counter these ongoing and emerging threats to humanity, Spartan Jun-A266—the last surviving member of Noble Team—struggles to forge a new generation of warriors on the hidden UNSC base Anvil Station, even as he battles the ghosts of his own past.

But when a renowned xenoarcheologist is brazenly abducted by a Banished strike team, Jun is pulled back into active operations alongside both old and new allies for a dangerous rescue mission, leading them all deep into hostile territory. Now Jun must confront the burden of survival and decide what it truly means to carry Noble Team’s legacy into a new era of conflict as this desperate mission may hold dire consequences far beyond a single missing civilian….

Set to be published some time in 2027, although we do not yet have an official release date, Halo: Fireteam Noble will receive a cover art reveal and more information over the upcoming months. However, if you are already a fan of the Halo universe, or have enjoyed previous books dedicated to the franchise, you will want to add Halo: Fireteam Noble to your shelves.

Not only that, but its author, Troy Denning, is no stranger to the Halo universe, having penned Halo: Outcasts, Halo: Divine Wind, Halo: Shadows of Reach, Halo: Oblivion, Halo: Silent Storm, Halo: Retribution and Halo: Last Light over the years. He has also worked on various Star Wars novels, as well as the bestselling Forgotten Realms series.
