It’s simple really – the DJI Osmo Action 4 for £189 is the best action camera deal out there

I’m going to get straight to the point – if you’re looking for an action cam and have a budget of £200, then look no further than this early Prime Big Deal Days special – the DJI Osmo Action 4 at Amazon for only £189 (was £289).

Sure, it’s not the latest model – but the Action 4 isn’t all that different from the Action 5 Pro which costs significantly more, plus it’s much cheaper than equivalent GoPro and Insta360 rivals too.

Yes, the rugged action cam is one of the best early bird deals ahead of Prime Big Deal Days which takes place on October 6 and 7. Be sure to bookmark that link for quick access to the best deals, and read on to find out why I recommend the Action 4.

Today’s best DJI Osmo Action 4 deal

I reviewed the DJI Osmo Action 4 back in the summer of 2023 and took it on holiday during that time, where it proved to be a perfect foil to my smartphone. In fact, I had so much fun with the camera during that coastal break, that I barely used my mirrorless camera.

Thanks to its rugged build and 18m waterproofing, I was able to take the “polished GoPro alternative with hassle-free magnetic mounts” to places I wouldn’t dream of with my phone or mirrorless camera and capture memorable moments, like jumping into the ocean from rocks, kayaking and more.

Sure, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is now on the scene, but there’s not a whole lot different between the cameras for most people, and the latest model is almost twice the price.

With the Action 4, you get crisp and silky smooth stabilized 4K video up to 60fps with rich 10-bit color depth and a flat D-Log color profile for rival-beating dynamic range, especially in low light thanks to its larger 1/1.3-inch sensor. Bright twin displays make composition easy, too.

It’s not perfect – battery life is middling, while the 0.4m close focus is limiting for vlogging, but the Action 4 is tougher than most and has the serious tools to satisfy users of all skill levels.

Now for less than £200 at Amazon and Argos, the Action 4 is the budget action camera to get.
