Best Buy kicked off an Ultimate Upgrade sale at the start of the week, featuring hundreds of offers and extra trade-in bonuses to make jumping up to the latest tech more affordable. Some of the strongest deals can be found on laptops, so I’ve looked through the sale and picked out seven devices that are well worth buying if you’re shopping for a new machine right now.

The laptops I’ve picked out can suit a variety of needs and budgets. So, if you want a cheap device just for everyday use, an all-rounder for school, college and at home, or a performance powerhouse for all of your creative, productivity and business tasks, you should find a suitable option here.
Starting with the lowest cost option worth buying, there’s an HP Chromebook 14 for $149 (was $329). This is far from the most powerful laptop out there, but I can’t deny that it’s cheap. For those who only want the basics for infrequent browsing, light admin tasks and the odd video streaming, then this is fine, but expect difficulties with basically everything else.
For the best value all-around option, I like this Asus Vivobook 14 for $429 (was $749.99). That’s a solid $320 discount on a modern and efficient laptop with a Snapdragon X processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and an impressive battery life of up to 29 hours. Get this to handle multitasking and more demanding work, and if you need a laptop that will last all day on a single charge.
Lastly, my premium pick is the MacBook Air 13-inch (M5) for $949 (was $1,099). This is a record-low price for Apple‘s latest laptop that we called “the best ultraportable I’ve ever used” in our 4.5-star review.
The majority of these laptop deals should be live until the current Best Buy sale ends on Sunday, but some could expire or sell out before then, so I wouldn’t hang around if one looks ideal for you. These will likely be the best offers we see until Memorial Day at the end of May.
