As someone who regularly writes about gaming laptops, it’s usually the US retailers that have the lion’s share of deep price cuts. But today, I’ve found an excellent deal for our UK readers — a deal so good that the Americans will be jealous, in fact.
It’s the Acer Nitro V16 for £1,199 (was £1,299) at Very, which, by my estimation, appears to be a record-low price on this wallet-friendly RTX 5070 gaming laptop.
Excellent value RTX 5070 laptop at Very
A solid mid-range laptop at this price
We haven’t reviewed this machine personally at TechRadar, but our sister-site GamesRadar published a detailed review a few days ago with a full run-down of the machine.
They tested the cheaper RTX 5060 variant, but the laptop chassis is the same, so expect the same understated black design and IPS display. You should, however, get a decent bump in performance here with the RTX 5070 under the hood.
As an overall package, the Acer Nitro V 16 is a decent buy for the price, but you do miss out on a few of the higher-end touches like an OLED display or metal chassis. It’s a laptop that’s been built to a price, but it is pretty slim, and performance is decent for a machine at this level.
