In an interview with Deadline for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Amy Pascal offered the first official update on the new James Bond casting timeline. Directly responding to the question of news coming before the end of the year, the new franchise boss confirmed “the end of the year is a good bet” for when the next actor to don the live-action 007 mantle will be announced, and shared that the team are being “really, really methodical” with their search:
PASCAL: Having worked with Barbara Broccoli at the studio, I mean, Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow. And it’s got to be something really different that is stirring and exciting and different.
