Joe Biden: Trump does a Modi, says he can ‘stop wars with a telephone call

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged on Thursday to resolve ongoing international crises and restore America’s global standing, asserting he could “stop wars with a telephone call.” Speaking at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump depicted a world on the brink of World War III under President Joe Biden‘s administration.

Trump promised to restore global peace and stability. “We will restore peace, stability, and harmony all throughout the world,” he declared, although he did not provide details on his methods. He assured that under his leadership, the United States would regain respect, power, and secure borders.

Trump Blamed Biden for Global Conflicts

The former president attributed various international conflicts to Biden, including those predating Biden’s term. “There is an international crisis the likes of which the world has seldom been part of… war is now raging in Europe, in the Middle East, a growing specter of conflict hangs over Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, and all of Asia,” Trump stated. He vowed to resolve these conflicts if elected for a second term.

Hostage Release and Missile Defense

Trump demanded the release of Americans held abroad, warning, “The entire world, I tell you this: we want our hostages back and they better be back before I assume office or you will be paying a very big price.” He also proposed creating a missile defense system similar to Israel’s Iron Dome for the United States, despite the system’s limitations against intercontinental missiles.

Relationship with Kim Jong Un

Reflecting on his previous interactions with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Trump suggested that Kim would welcome his return to the White House. “I get along with him, he’d like to see me back too. I think he misses me, if you want to know,” Trump said.
