Joel Church-Cooper Signs With TFC Management (EXCLUSIVE)

EXCLUSIVE: TFC Management has signed Joel Church-Cooper following his two-season run as creator/showrunner of Going Dutch, Fox’s half-hour military comedy starring Denis Leary.

A veteran comedy creator, showrunner and writer, Church-Cooper is otherwise best known as the co-creator and showrunner for the acclaimed IFC baseball comedy Brockmire, starring Hank Azaria, all four seasons of which are now streaming on AMC+.

Between these two series, Church-Cooper was a Co-EP on Season 2 of the Lionsgate Television comedy Minx, starring Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson. He was a Co-EP and wrote for the Point Grey-produced Hulu series Future Man, staffed on Undateable from Bill Lawrence’s Doozer, and spent two seasons on the Warner Horizon/TBS series Ground Floor, also from Doozer. Church-Cooper also wrote for the NBC series Up All Night, from Broadway Video and Universal TV, and before that wrote on Men at Work for Fanfare/Sony TV/TBS. He has also sold pilots to HBO, Amazon, Apple and NBC.

On the feature side, Church-Cooper recently penned a script for Warner Bros./Megamix/42, with Nicholas Hoult attached to produce and star, and Jonathan Levine attached to direct. He also penned a script for Tolmach/Sony and has written for the ESPY Awards, Funny or Die, ABC, Fox Sports and Comedy Central.

Founded in 2020 by David Stone and Ben Jacobson, TFC Management reps on-camera talents such as Dakota and Elle Fanning, Shira Haas, Lashana Lynch, JD Pardo, Dan Ings and Josh Hutcherson, as well as such creators, filmmakers, novelists and producers as Warren Littlefield, Brian Yorkey, Megan Park, Adam Reed, Akiva Goldsman, Courtney Lilly, Josh & Jonas Pate and Rebecca Serle.

TFC’s sister company, TFC Productions, most recently produced the Apple series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, created by David E. Kelley and starring Elle Fanning, which earlier this month landed eight Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.
