Just Eat Takeaway, Amazon announce partnership in Germany, Austria and Spain By Investing.com

Investing.com — Just Eat Takeaway.com (AS:) has announced a partnership with Amazon(NASDAQ:) to offer members of the e-commerce giant’s Prime service free delivery on some food orders in three European countries.

In a statement on Wednesday, Just Eat Takeaway — Europe’s biggest food delivery group — said the collaboration will launch through Lieferando brand in Germany and Austria and Just Eat in Spain. The company added the move will be “mutually beneficial” for Amazon Prime subscribers and “Just Eat Takeaway partners.”

“This is a fantastic opportunity to further empower consumers’ everyday convenience, while driving more customer loyalty and affordability,” said Just Eat Takeaway Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Kenny.

Amazon Prime members will have early access to Just Eat Takeaway’s new loyalty program called “Plus,” which includes “exclusive deals and discounts” at some restaurants and retailers. By linking their Prime and Just Eat Takeaway accounts, customers will be able to gain free deliveries through Plus on any purchases above 15 euros.

The move comes after Amazon recently expanded its partnership with Just Eat Takeaway’s U.S. business, Grubhub.

Amsterdam-listed shares in Just Eat Takeaway were slightly higher in mid-morning trading.
