The White Lotus is welcoming a new guest.
Helena Bonham Carter was previously set to star in the fourth iteration of Mike White and HBO’s Emmy Award-winning drama series, but the actress departed the show shortly after filming began due to creative differences. White is said to have felt that the vision he originally conceived for Carter’s character did not align with what was happening on set and that, since that actress’ character was pivotal the story, the decision was ultimately made to recast the role and rewrite the script.
Now, White will be welcoming a familiar face into the fold. Per Deadline, Laura Dern is officially set to check in for the latest season of the hit drama series, which will take its fourth iteration to the South of France. Dern is a close friend of White’s and the pair previously collaborated on his series Enlightened, which ran for 18 episodes from 2011 to 2013.
