Buying one of the best OLED TVs is usually a significant investment due to the high price of this premium TV technology. If that’s put you off, you may be keen to know that LG has just partnered with Raylo to launch a subscription service that can help you spread the cost of your next LG OLED TV, soundbar, or gaming monitor, with prices starting at around £15 per month.
LG Flex is the name of the service, and it currently offers a small selection of LG tech as part of this launch period.
When it comes to TVs, some of the options include the five-star-rated LG C5 and the more budget-friendly LG B4. Although you are restricted to a handful of certain sizes depending on the model, the 48-inch and 55-inch versionsare more commonly available. Prices for these start at around £26 per month.
Do I think this the best way to get an OLED TV?
It’s important to point out that, as this is a hire agreement, you do not ‘own’ the TV at any point while you are subscribed. Instead, once your chosen subscription period ends, you can choose to upgrade to a different model for free (and start a new subscription), continue paying monthly payments to keep your existing TV, or return the device and end your subscription.
That means, over the course of a 36-month contract, you could have spent upwards of £1,000 just to borrow the TV for that period of time. If you go into it knowing that’s what you’ve signed up for and are happy with it, then this could be a revolutionary new way to get an OLED TV outside of other flexible payment options without paying the prohibitive upfront cost.
Also, I think it’s important to stress that if you are considering this, then budget appropriately to ensure you can maintain the monthly cost throughout the duration of the subscription. Missed payments can lead to late fees that are substantially higher than the regular monthly fee.
So, there are some things to consider, but if it suits your situation and needs, then this could genuinely be a good way to get yourself the OLED TV you’ve always wanted.
