Meghan Markle has dropped into the MasterChef Australia kitchen.
The Duchess of Sussex will appear this season, having already recorded her show as guest judge.
She will “help guide some of the most impressive home cooks the competition has ever seen,” the MasterChef Australia team said, and has mentored and guided Australia’s top home cooks alongside judges, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli.
The appearance comes off the back of her own Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which features cooking in some eps.
Markle joins other judges this season on MasterChef Australia from returners like Maggie Beer, Curtis Stone and Rick Stein, to Victoria Minell, Vincent Yeow Lim and Lily Huynh.
Now into its 18th season on Network 10, the Australian version of MasterChef is one of the most long-running and popular around the world. The UK original has recently been recovering from a scandal that engulfed its former presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode, who have both exited. Banijay-backed Endemol Shine Australia produces MasterChef in the nation.
Markle is in Australia for the first time since 2018 with husband Prince Harry. They are visiting in a private capacity and have been to charities and also money-making events. UK royals have always had a close relationship with Australia and King Charles III is technically the nation’s Head of State.
