MTG Marvel Super Heroes: WandaVision and Doctor Doom Cards Revealed

At IGN Live today, Magic: The Gathering’s Mark Rosewater and Marvel’s Jesse Falcon took the stage to reveal five new cards that will be part of the upcoming Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes that’s set to launch later this month. WHITE spotlights the Squadron and a Mythic Hyperion, Supreme hero, featuring the Squadron Supreme’s leader, a man who sure is super, not to mention a fun deeper cut character for big Marvel Comics fans.

Moving on to BLUE, we’ve got the Kang Dynasty and a Mythic Immortus, Master of Eternity, depicting one of the most powerful of the many Kang’s variants.

For BLACK, we’ve got two very powerful Dr. Doom centered cards with DOOM and a Mythic Doctor Doom, Unrivaled. Said Rosewater, “There is a Doctor Doom in the main set, but you can’t have just one Doctor Doom! You need another because he’s one of the best villains in Marvel.”

Representing RED is the WandaVision-evoking Scarlet, featuring a Mythic The Vision and Scarlet Witch together. In the main set, there are individual cards for each character, but Rosewater noted, “Obviously they are a very famous pair, so we wanted to see them on a card together.”

And finally for GREEN, we’ve got the Savage Lands and a Mythic Sauron, Dino Devotee, which offers up a classic dilemma of either curing cancer… or turning people into dinosaurs! When it came to referencing this much-shared Sauron moment from the comics, Falcons said, “It’s one of my favorite Marvel memes! If we’re not having fun, what are we doing?”
