Down Detector reports are dropping

Down Detector reports have started to drop as well, now sitting at 115 reports for ChatGPT as of 3:03 PM ET. Hopefully, your experience with ChatGPT is now back to normal, but OpenAI is still monitoring for full recovery from increased error rates now that the fix has been deployed.

If you’re still encountering issues, it’s worth refreshing the browser if you’re on the web, or opening a new chat in the ChatGPT app after closing and reopening it, as that might do the trick.

As of 3:12 PM ET, OpenAI says ChatGPT should be back for most users or closer to normal operations, writing, “We have applied the mitigation and are monitoring the recovery.” The color for status has also gone back to green, pointing to operational, versus yellow.

And at the same time, my ChatGPT is now responding to my queries again, so this might be one of the shorter issues with the AI Chatbot in recent memory.

Here’s some good news – Lance Ulanoff, TechRadar’s Editor-at-Large, is once again chatting with ChatGPT. This might be a sign that the AI chatbot is rebounding for some. I’ll give it a go on my end as well, but my original query is still spinning.

Here’s a live look at the status page, showing that OpenAI is working to fix the issue with ChatGPT elevated errors. No specifics on what is causing the outage as of yet, though. Past ChatGPT outages have lasted anywhere from a few hours to many, many hours, so here’s hoping this is a quick fix.
