Nobody Wants This season 3: key information
– Arriving on Netflix in 2026
– Production yet to begin
– Main cast set to return
– No trailer or release date announced
– Expected to pick up from the events of season 2
Everybody does in fact want Nobody Wants This season 3 and despite that being a bit of a mouthful, we can reveal that the hit Netflix comedy is coming back later this year. Already?! That’s right. It’s quickly become one of those shows that treats us to an annual release and we’re really not mad about it.
As one of Netflix’s top shows on one of the best streaming services, we’ve watched on for two seasons as Joanne and Noah navigate the ups and downs of a relationship, trying to compromise on faith – and learning that it’s really important to talk about it.
So, as the show returns for another season, here’s everything we know about it so far, from predicted release date to who will return from its cast, plot rumors and more.
Nobody Wants This season 3 release date prediction
Hot off the heels of season 2, Nobody Wants This season 3 is already on the way – and it’s coming later this year. Kristen Bell broke the renewal news to her fellow cast members on November 4 (shown above), which was less than two weeks after season 2 premiered on Netflix.
In a statement to Tudum, the show’s creator Erin Foster said: “I couldn’t be more excited to head into a third season of this show. It is a privilege to be able to write about my favorite couple on a scale like this. As long as it doesn’t take too much time away from me watching reality TV at night, I’ll do it for as long as they want me to!”
And when it comes to a release date, Tudum has already revealed that season 3 will be heading to the streamer later this year, though there’s no specific release date just yet.
We got season 1 in September 2024, season 2 in October 2025, so I’d predict we’re looking around the same time of the year for season 3. But, watch this space!
Nobody Wants This season 3 trailer
There’s no Nobody Wants This season 3 trailer to share just yet, but that’s not really surprising given we don’t have a release date either.
The season 2 trailer dropped, in true Netflix fashion, around a month before it landed on the streamer. So, while we’ll get season 3 in 2026, we’ll get a trailer before that. I’ll update here as soon as it lands.
Nobody Wants This season 3 cast
While the Nobody Wants This season 3 cast hasn’t be wholly confirmed, some of the cast feature in Kristen’s season 3 renewal video, and we’d predict the rest of the main cast to return, too:
- Kristen Bell as Joanne
- Adam Brody as Noah
- Justine Lupe as Morgan
- Timothy Simons as Sasha
- Jackie Tohn as Esther
- Michael Hitchcock as Henry
- Stephanie Faracy as Lynne
- Paul Ben-Victor as Ilan
- Tovah Feldshuh as Bina
In terms of recurring and guest stars, there’s no official news on whether they might return. Take Brody’s real-life wife, Leighton Meester who played Abby, though there doesn’t seem much reason from the way season 2 ended that she’d be returning, but you never know.
There’s also recurring stars like D’Arcy Carden as Ryann, Sherry Cola as Ashley, Stephen Tobolowsky as Rabbi Cohen (or Big Noah), or Seth Rogen as Rabbi Neil that we may also see again. But, we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for any confirmation.
Nobody Wants This season 3 story synopsis
Full spoilers for Nobody Wants This season 1 and 2 to follow. Plus, potential spoilers for season 3.
While we don’t have an official plot synopsis for Nobody Wants This season 3, we can take a look at how season 2 played out to get a good idea of what might go down next.
We entered season 2 with Joanne not feeling ready to convert to Judaism – and, for the most part, it felt like we were going to leave the season in the exact same position. But then, Joanne finally made a choice after a very brief (and stressful) breakup with Noah revealed to her what she really wanted in life. And thankfully, it was him.
But, before we could even get our breath back over the turmoil of the titular couple, another big decision was made. This time by Esther. After a potential pregnancy, Esther reevaluated her relationship with Sasha, somewhat rattled from season 2 by his friendship with Joanne’s sister Morgan, and ultimately decided to separate from him to learn more about herself.
And so, undoubtedly, we’ll witness both the journey that Joanne is about to embark on, fully committing to her relationship with Noah, while Esther navigates taking a step back from hers with Sasha.
For Adam Brody speaking to Parade, he hopes that in season 3 Joanne and Noah will finally take the next step in their relationship, whether moving in together or getting engaged, he says “relatively soon”. Adding: “I think if he could hit the gas, the pedal in another area, that would be nice.”
And these big gestures from Noah will hopefully come in reciprocation for Joanne potentially, hopefully, committing to convert to Judaism, as Deadline explains.
Season 2 left us with questions about what big moments will happen next for these couples and, also, what Morgan’s return to the dating scene will look like next, too, after her break-up from Dr. Andy.
Fortunately, when speaking to Elle, showrunner Jenni Konner revealed that there’s lots of opportunity for this in season 3: “We have so many stories we still want to tell. We want to continue to explore the characters we haven’t really explored, and I think it’s going to be a lot of fun… and it would answer a lot of questions you might leave season 2 with.”
Will there be more seasons of Nobody Wants This?
Nobody Wants This has been treated to swift renewals and big performance stats on Netflix, but when it comes to season 4, there’s no news just yet. As has been the case, it will seemingly depend on how season 3 goes down on the streamer and until it drops sometime in 2026, we won’t know how that looks.
Season 2 held the number one spot on Netflix’s English TV list for two weeks in a row with 18 million views in its first 11 days, according to Tudum. With big love for the show, we’d be surprised if it didn’t keep on running. But, it depends on what unravels in season 3, so we’ll keep our ear to the ground.
