Las Vegas, Nevada & Santa Cruz, California — Future Motion Inc., the maker of Onewheel, the iconic, self-balancing single-wheel electric board, is returning to CES to showcase its most advanced lineup of boards to date at the 2025 event.
“At CES 2014, we unveiled the initial Onewheel concept with a dream, a Kickstarter campaign, and were met with a whole lot of curious looks and more than a few skeptics,” said Kyle Doerksen, Future Motion CEO and the inventor of Onewheel. “But we smashed past our fundraising goal by over 600% and delivered the first consumer-ready version of Onewheel on time, and showcased our first production model ten years ago at CES 2015.”
Onewheel has since grown to become the largest domestic manufacturer of light electric vehicles in the U.S., still building its products 100% in California while building a passionate community of riders that spans 139 countries worldwide. Onewheel now even hosts an annual racing eventthat has been featured on ESPN.
CES, held annually in Las Vegas, is the world’s premier technology event, attracting industry leaders, visionaries, and media from across the globe. Showcasing tomorrow’s transportation technology has been a key part of the annual event’s appeal.
“CES is where the most ambitious dreams of the future take center stage. Ninety percent of what you see there might never happen, and that’s the fun part, walking around thinking about which crazy new products will actually become a thing,” said Director of Marketing Jack Mudd, who signed on with the company as its first employee over a decade ago. “It’s humbling to think that 10 years on, Onewheel has lived up to the promise and made the lives of hundreds of thousands of people more awesome.”
Onewheel celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2024 with a documentary film, produced its (9th) Race For The Rail Onewheel world championship race, and added a record three new boards to its lineup:
“We entered the scene years before even basic e-scooters took hold in the market and when self-balancing technology seemed like just a crazy gimmick,” added Doerksen. “But we knew we had something special and kept going. And as technology has continued to advance, we’ve continued to build on what Onewheel can do, and are excited to showcase our full lineup of boards at this year’s CES in collaboration with fellow innovators and builders.”
Since its launch in 2014, Future Motion has become the largest manufacturer of light electric vehicles in the United States, with a passionate rider base spanning 139 countries worldwide. True to its roots, it still designs and manufactures its boards 100% in California. The product lineup now offers a range of models, including the Pint, Pint X, Pint S, XR Classic, GT, and the GT S-Series, each delivering distinct performance capabilities and features.
