While several models are on sale, I highly recommend checking out the 4TB Samsung S9 Portable SSD on sale for $299 (was $439). While it’s a little pricey, this particular model is the current top pick on our best portable SSD buyers’ guide, so it comes with a high recommendation from us.

With 4TB of space, you’ll be set for years with the Samsung S9 – although that’s not the main selling point. The S9 features a highly resilient exterior that can withstand some serious punishment, as well as support for USB Gen 2×2. In layman’s terms, that means extremely quick read and write speeds, although your computer or other device will also need to support that to achieve the best performance.

Either way, the S9 is a great device that should last more than a few good years down the line.
