Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 7 could reunite Henry and Julia going by this cryptic trailer clue

Have you calmed down after that staggering Outlander: Blood of my Blood episode 6 storyline? Good, because episode 7 of the romantic, time-traveling prequel series to Outlander could be about to make it all better again.

In last week’s episode of the hit Starz and Amazon MGM+ series, Davina (Sara Vickers) helps Julia (Hermione Corfield) to give birth. But by the time this news trickles down to Henry (Jeremy Irvine), a midwife has been paid off to tell him the pair died, being buried in an unknown grave.

To make matters worse, Julia has found herself working as a housemaid for Lord Lovat (Tony Curran) after traveling back in time and deciding to sleep with him to pass off her and Henry’s (Jeremy Irvine) child as Lovat’s own. Eek.

It’s all a bit hairy at the moment, but thanks to the already confirmed season 2 and existing Outlander lore, we know this isn’t the end of Julia and Henry’s story. They might be apart for now, but they’re going to have to come back together at some point. Judging by the Outlander: Blood of my Blood episode 7 that could be sooner than we think.

As we know, Henry and Julia’s love story is built on the back of love letters. They each wrote to each other during their initial courtship in WW1, with those letters becoming sparse and desperate since they’ve been split up during their travels back in time.

Julia has kept a stash of Henry’s letters by her bedside, but there was one Lord Lovat intercepted before she was able to see it. Back in episode 3, Henry wrote Julia a letter as Malcolm Grant’s (Jhon Lumsden) Bladier, but she doesn’t currently know it exists. In the final frame of episode 7’s trailer, she’s seen reading a letter with astonishment – could she finally have found it?

If she has, this could be a game-changing moment for our story. Lovat’s guard is clearly down now he believes he has a potential heir, and the moment to strike is when someone is at their weakest. Obviously, external damage has been done now Henry is suffering from PTSD, but Julia reading the letter could be the first important stepping stone towards a reunion.

She’s also now got Brian (Jamie Foy) in her corner, seemingly willing to work against his own father if it means the right thing is done in the end. It’s a powerful allyship, and we’ve not seen the full extent of it yet.

We’ll see tonight (September 12) how far Outlander: Blood of my Blood episode 7 goes, but according to the cast, they still have no idea how season 1 will actually end. “We filmed about four different endings for season one, so we still haven’t seen which one they’ve gone for in the final edit,” Irvine told me. In short, it’s all to play for.
