To celebrate the launch of one of 2026’s most anticipated action-adventure titles, PlayStation has announced a brand-new release, and it will be perfect for the most elite spies around.
PlayStation Has Unveiled Some Gorgeous New Hardware
Announced just yesterday, PlayStation has unveiled the 007 First Light Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller. Set to launch on 27 May, this limited-edition hardware will correspond with the launch of 007 First Light, the upcoming James Bond-inspired action-adventure game by IO Interactive. Marketed as “for your hands only”, this controller comes with a sleek gold finish and the iconic 007 icon stamped on the touchpad. Available to pre-order from 17 April onward, the Franchise Art Director on 007 First Light had the following to say:
“With this 007 First Light controller, we saw an opportunity to welcome James Bond back to gaming after more than 13 years in a way that felt instantly iconic. The golden finish pays tribute to the elegance, legacy, and timeless style of the franchise, while the barrel-inspired detailing reflects the themes of the game and how it feels to play it, as well as being a nod to one of pop culture’s most recognizable visual signatures. Every element of the DualSense design was crafted as a celebration of Bond’s return, blending legacy and modernity to create a controller that feels unmistakably 007 from the moment you see it.”
This Latest PlayStation Release Won’t Come Cheap
However, with any limited-edition hardware, the 007 First Light Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller will come alongside an eye-watering price tag. According to the PlayStation blog, “007 First Light Limited Edition will be available in limited quantities globally for a recommended retail price of $84.99 USD/ ¥12,480 (including tax) / €84.99/ £74.99.” That being said, considering the standard DualSense controller is around $60, there is not too much of a difference, despite being a big investment for many.
With 007 First Light expected to launch on 27 May 2026 (with a delay for one platform in particular), there is not long to go, and if you want to celebrate the release of the James Bond-inspired hit in style, be ready to place your pre-order for the 007 First Light Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller on 17 April.
