It may have received mixed reviews from critics following its initial launch back in 2022, but as is the case with many Pokémon entries, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has since managed to maintain a steady player base, mainly thanks to its heaps of post-game content that has been added by Nintendo ever since.
Criticized for its technical problems and lack of ambition, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet still received praise for its various story aspects and arrival of brand-new features, one of which includes Tera Type Pokémon. Created as the result of the Terastal phenomenon, Pokémon have since gained the ability to transform into a Tera Type, adding new abilities and powers to their arsenal.
Due to this, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have since welcomed various Tera Raids over the years, allowing players to team up with others and battle some of the most dangerous ‘mons. Doing so will bag them exclusive rewards which will help make their roster a whole lot more powerful.
Now, this month is no exception with the arrival of the Magikarp Tera Raid. From Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players can search the Paldea region, Kitakami, and the Terarium at Blueberry Academy in search of Water-type Pokémon, as well as the punishing Tera Raid.
Arriving as a 7-Star Tera Raid battle complete with Mightiest Mark is none other than Dragon-Tera Type Magikarp. However, that is not all, as various events are set to take place across Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s map. More specifically, Mass Outbreaks, which will see many of the same species of Pokémon appear in one location. These are as follows:
The following Pokémon appear in mass outbreaks around Casseroya Lake:
- Dondozo with the Rowdy Mark (Title: “The Rowdy”)
- Tatsugiri (Curly Form) with the Crafty Mark (Title: “The Opportunist”)
- Tatsugiri (Droopy Form) with the Crafty Mark (Title: “The Opportunist”)
- Tatsugiri (Stretchy Form) with the Crafty Mark (Title: “The Opportunist”)
- Veluza with the Ferocious Mark (Title: “The Rampaging”)
Mass outbreaks in the Paldea region:
- Psyduck with the Absent-Minded Mark (Title: “The Spacey”)
- Slowpoke with the Zoned-Out Mark (Title: “The Daydreamer”)
Mass outbreaks in Kitakami:
- Feebas with the Prideful Mark (Title: “The Arrogant”)
- Basculin (White-Striped Form) with the Ferocious Mark (Title: “The Rampaging”)
Mass outbreaks at Blueberry Academy:
- Lapras with the Intellectual Mark (Title: “The Scholar”)
To participate in the Mass Outbreak events, you will need to make sure that you have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News and installed the latest update data for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. However, this is all free, so look forward to plenty of additional content throughout the month.
