Before the Avengers return in Doomsday this December, Tom Holland is ready to swing back to global screens with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Scheduled for release on July 31, with just over two months to wait until Peter Parker tackles a world that has forgotten him, Brand New Day is sure to be a major hit at the box office, especially thanks to its stacked cast. Those starring alongside Holland include Zendayaand Jacob Batalon’s MJ and Ned, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Michael Mando as Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Tombstone, and Sadie Sinkin an as-yet-unknown role that many believe to be Jean Grey.
If you can’t wait for your next dose of mainline MCU Spider-Man, Prime Video has just dropped a new Spidey series that is proving to be the perfect way to fill the time. A live-action series serving as a spin-off to the animated Spider-Verse films (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Spider-Noirstars the Oscar-winning Nicolas Cageas he reprises his role of Ben Reilly. Developed by Oren Uziel for MGM+ and Prime Video, the series also boasts the executive producing duo of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who have already had a wonderful year courtesy of their smash hit sci-fi masterpiece Project Hail Mary. The series also features Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson in its stacked cast.
All eight episodes of Spider-Noir, from “Step Into My Office” to “The Man in the Mask,” dropped on Prime Video this week, and the series is, unsurprisingly, already a major hit. At the time of writing,Spider-Noir has debuted at #2 in the Prime Video top ten in the U.S., missing out on the top spot thanks to the global phenomenon Off Campus. Spider-Noir has hit the top spot in several countries around the world, including Mexico, Poland, and Thailand.

What Are Critics Saying About ‘Spider-Noir’?
Given its origins in the acclaimed Spider-Verse movies, Spider-Noir has a lot to live up to. Thankfully, critics seem to universally agree that this spin-off is a success, scoring it an impressive 91% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. In a review by Collider’s Aidan Kelly, in which he calls the series “a heck of a lot of fun,” he awarded the show a strong 7/10 rating, praising Cage’s performance and saying his “effortless charisma and undeniable likability alone are enough to hold interest.”
