“Your participation is invaluable as we seek to find a cure to this terrible disease,” the 90-year-old noted to attendees. “I know well how devastating it can be. May we all become a beacon of light to stop it in its tracks. Count me in as a red thread.”

And last fall, she and daughter Emma Walton Hamilton—her only child with first husband, costume designer Tony Walton, though she’s also mom to Amy Edwards and Joanna Edwards with director Blake Edwards—did a full reissue of their 2010 book, The Great American Mousical about a troupe of theater-loving mice.
