We’re still counting the days until the fourth season of Reacher premieres on Prime Video, but the big man is already getting us ready for what’s to come after that, ensuring we don’t have to wait too long. What a lovely fella he is. When you consider certain shows taking three or four years for a follow-up season, Reacher is already filming one.
Ritchson shared a very hyperactive video on Instagram confirming that cameras are now rolling on Reacher Season 5, giving fans their first behind-the-scenes look at the new season despite Season 4 not premiering until August 12. The short clip sees Ritchson preparing to head to set as Jack Reacher, confirming production is officially underway just days after he revealed that filming would begin this week. It continues Prime Video’s remarkably fast turnaround for the action series, with the streamer already well into production before audiences have even seen the next batch of episodes. We wish more shows could be like this.
The rapid schedule pretty much guarantees that Reacher is still onf of streaming’s most consistently released blockbuster series. While many major streaming dramas now disappear for two or three years between seasons (we’re looking at you, Pluribus), Prime Video has kept their juggernaut adaptation moving at an impressive pace.

What is ‘Reacher’ Season 5 About?
Although Prime Video has yet to reveal which Lee Child novel Season 5 will adapt, Ritchson recently confirmed that every script had already been completed before cameras rolled. With 30 Jack Reacher novels available, there’s certainly no shortage of source material for the series to continue exploring. Ritchson has previously said he’d love to adapt The Midnight Line, which focuses on the drug crisis in America, while titles like Echo Burning, Tripwire, Worth Dying For and Without Fail have all been touted.
Season 4, which adapts Child’s Gone Tomorrow, premieres on August 12 with its opening three episodes before continuing weekly. Just over a month later, franchise expansion continues with the debut of Maria Sten’s Neagley spin-off on September 16, with Ritchson also set to appear.
