Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are set to have one of their biggest collaborations this year, and the first of three projects has already started.
In a few months, they will feature together in Christopher Nolan’s film adaptation of Homer’s epic The Odyssey, which just received a new trailer. Then they’ll be back together for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three in the final weeks of 2026, which is adapting Frank Hebert’s Dune Messiah. On top of all that, however, it shouldn’t be forgotten that Pattinson and Zendaya have already starred in a successful movie together, making for three collaborations this year.
Last month, the A24 movie The Drama arrived in theaters and performed exceptionally at the box office. Now, this drama-filled vehicle can be purchased or rented on Amazon and other digital retailers. Based on the site’s listing, the movie can be purchased for $23.49 or rented for $18.49.
The Drama stars Pattinson and Zendaya as Emma and Charlie, an engaged couple whose relationship is tested due to a major revelation a week before their wedding. The romantic black comedy was written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, and the cast also included Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, Hailey Gates, Zoë Winters, Hannah Gross, and Sydney Lemmon, among others.
The A24 movie was quickly met with positive critical reception upon release. ScreenRant’s review of The Drama gave the movie a 9 out of 10 score and described it as “a thrilling story, engineered with expert precision to keep you hanging on every turn.” The feature is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 78% Tomatometer, and it boasts the same score from the audience-driven Popcornmeter.
Commercially, The Drama made $117 million worldwide during its theatrical run off a reported $28 million budget. Not only does that make it an incredibly profitable A24 release, but it’s also the studio’s fifth movie to cross $100 million. The previous A24 movies that hit the same milestone include 2025’s Marty Supreme ($181 million), 2022’s Everything Everywhere All at Once ($148 million), 2024’s Civil War ($127 million), and 2025’s Materialists ($108 million).
Now, the movie can be seen by an even wider audience through its home release. On the other hand, The Drama is expected to become available to view on HBO Max, which has been the exclusive streaming home of A24 movies over the last several years. As of writing, neither A24 nor HBO has confirmed the streaming date for the movie.
The Drama has already generated a lot of chatter online, including major discord over the movie’s real villain and those defending Zendaya’s character’s past actions. It’s likely to refuel those discussions now that the movie has hit video-on-demand, and that same will likely be the case when it hits streaming.
The Odyssey will be released in theaters on July 17. Pattinson stars in it as Antonius, one of the suitors of Anne Hathaway’s Penelope, and Zendaya will appear as the Greek goddess Athena. Dune: Part Three will then follow on December 18, with Zendaya reprising the role of Chani, and Pattinson playing Scytale, who seeks to dethrone Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides.
The Drama is now available to watch on video-on-demand.
