The 2018 Robin Hood reboot also features Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Jamie Foxx as Little John, and Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham. The trouble was that it was released only a year after Ritchie’s big-budget box-office disaster King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Robin Hoodgrossed $86 million worldwide against a reported budget of $100 million, and is now sitting at a 14% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The aggregator website’s consensus reads, “Robin Hood robs from rich source material, but is ultimately just another poor attempt to needlessly gussy up a classic tale with amped-up action and modern special effects.” Robin Hood is currently streaming on HBO Max, but it’ll be removed from the platform on May 1. A recent television adaptation of the Robin Hood legend was released on MGM+, and director Michael Sarnoski is set to release an A24 movie titled The Death of Robin Hoodin June.
