Per Deadline, as of Saturday morning, Scary Movie is projected to take No. 1 at the domestic box office during its opening weekend with a 3-day total of $56 million, which marks the best opening weekend ever for the franchise (beating the $49.7 million bow of 2003’s Scary Movie 3). It is set to earn nearly double the projected $30.1 million 3-day haul of the franchise adventure movie Masters of the Universe, which is expected to open at No. 2.
