Silo’s Confirmed 2026 Return Officially Ends An Era For Rebecca Ferguson’s Character

[

Silo officially returns on Apple TV in 2026 with season 3, which seems to mark the end of an era for Rebecca Ferguson‘s Juliette. Although the final release date for Silo season 3 is yet to be announced, Rebecca Ferguson has confirmed that it will premiere sometime in the summer of this year. Her character, Juliette, too, is set to return in the show’s upcoming installment, but her story will seemingly not be the same.

Towards the end of season 2, Apple TV’s Silo ended with a major cliffhanger, which suggested that both Juliette and Bernard were trapped in Silo 18’s thermal sterilization chamber. Neither of them should be able to survive in the chamber, but since Juliette donned a suit made out of a firefighter’s protective clothing, she will make it out alive.

This explains why it has already been confirmed that she will return in Silo season 3, and that, too, in a major capacity. What is interesting, though, is that before Silo season 2’s credits start rolling, the show hints at how Juliette’s story in future arcs will be significantly different from what it has been in seasons 1 and 2 and will also drift away from her original storyline in the Hugh Howey books.

Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Will Have A Significantly Different Arc In Silo Season 3

Throughout Silo seasons 1 and 2, Juliette’s narrative is defined by her struggle to survive and her resistance against Silo 18’s governing forces. In both installments, she served more as a lone wolf who questioned the rules imposed on her and her people in Silo 18. In season 1, she walked alone because most other people in Silo 18 were too afraid to support her.

Meanwhile, in season 2, she found herself in a completely different silo, forced to find a way to return home. She did receive support from characters like Martha and Solo in both seasons, but her journey was primarily defined by isolation, where she relied on her resilience and survival skills to make it out alive.

Towards Silo season 2’s ending, however, one can notice a shift in her storyline. When she makes her way back to Silo 18, she is seen as a hero by her people, who also gradually start an uprising against Bernard. After Silo season 2’s ending, it also seems likely that Bernard will die, given how he was not wearing a firefighter suit like Juliette.

Since Silo 18’s people now realize that only Juliette can save them, they would likely want her as their new leader. This could pave the way for her to replace Bernard in season 3 and become the new leading figure in Silo 18. With this, for the first time, Juliette will find herself in a position of power. After initially being ostracized and finding herself in an almost dead silo, Juliette will, for once, have the support of an entire community.

Interestingly, though, as Silo season 2’s ending suggests, Juliette will face some stiff competition from an unlikely rival, Camille Sims. Despite being more of a side character in Silo season 1, Camille rises in the ranks in season 2 to become a prominent figure in season 3. After season 2’s ending, it seems likely that she will stand against Juliette and try to take her down before she attempts to lead her people to freedom.

Juliette’s arc felt a little underwhelming in Silo season 2 because it became redundant and barely progressed until the final chapter. Fortunately, considering how so many potentially compelling arcs lie ahead in her story, it will be interesting to see how her character will change in Silo season 3.

Silo Season 3’s Potential Book Changes Will Make Juliette’s Original Story Even Better

Camille Sims is not even a character in Hugh Howey’s original Silo books. The fact that the show sets her up as a major player in season 3 hints at how different it will be from the novels. Unlike the second book, Shift, in the Hugh Howey series, Silo season 3 is also expected to unfold events from the past and the present simultaneously.

Instead of treading the same path as the second novel and only focusing on the origins of the central silos, Silo season 3 will likely drift back and forth between timelines to draw parallels between how the creation of the silos has spiraled into the present political conflicts in Silo 18.

By still featuring Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette as its lead while adding new players from the past to the mix, Silo season 3 could potentially add more depth to the books’ existing lore.

While only time will tell how Apple TV‘s Silo season 3 will turn out, it already seems promising, especially because it marks the inception of a whole new chapter for Rebecca Ferguson‘s Juliette.
