Stardew Valley Officially Returns With New Prequel

We all know that every Stardew Valley playthrough begins the same as we take on the role of a farmer who travels to the town after learning that they have inherited their grandfather’s farm following his death. However, what we do afterward is entirely up to us, from choosing our farm layout to our appearance and then what you do every day for the rest of your time in the beloved farming simulator.

With Stardew Valley being one of the most successful video games of all time, and being regarded as the best farming simulator, it is no wonder that fans are always eager for more.

Luckily, its one-man-developer team, ConcernedApe, is always on hand to offer free content updates and quality-of-life changes. That being said, what if there was a way to learn more about the beloved town before our arrival? How did our grandfather run it? What did the locals think of him? Well, all that has finally been answered thanks to one brand-new release.

Stardew Valley: Before the Farmer does exactly what is says on the tin by giving us a glimpse into the world before we turn up. The comic book written by Chihiro Sakaida is now available for a respectable $28, and yes, it is an unofficial Stardew Valley collectible. Here is what the official synopsis reads: “Every story has a beginning… but some go back even farther.

“Join the residents of Pelican Town in the year leading up to the new farmer’s arrival in Stardew Valley. This 144-page graphic novel, lovingly written and illustrated by the talented Chihiro Sakaida, follows the lives of the villagers through the ups and the downs, the disappointments and the celebrations… as well as the arrival of the Joja Corporation.”

Featuring a 5.5 x 8.5 inch hardcover, customers can also expect a woodgrain-style cover with embossing and gold foil, creme-colored paper with brown ink for a natural look and both English and Japanese writing throughout. Not only that, but the inside cover doubles as a poster and included in each copy of the book will be a “hand-sealed letter from Grandpa with embossed Pelican Town seal sticker, along with a beautiful illustration of your new farmhouse!”

Stardew Valley: Before the Farmer‘s pages are full of tiny details that would be easily missed if you do not spend time on each page of this stunning graphic novel, and luckily, it is available to purchase now over on FanGamer.
