Sydney Sweeney’s Gritty HBO Psychological Drama Series Returns Early As Worldwide Streaming Hit

[

Sydney Sweeney‘s hit HBO series is back on top.

Sweeney is one of the most in-demand rising stars in Hollywood. Recently, the actress led the massive box office hit that was The Housemaid. The book adaptation, which also starred 1923‘s Brandon Sklenar and Academy Award nominee Amanda Seyfried, finished its global run with $399.3 million. A sequel is on the way, set to release on December 17, 2027.

Before then, Sweeney can be seen back in another medium. The actress slowly built her career with TV appearances in hit shows like The Handmaid’s Tale, Sharp Objects, The White Lotus, and Euphoria. Three of those four popular series came from HBO, with Sweeney now set to return to one of them quite soon, though the project has already found new life before that.

According to FlixPatrol, Euphoria is currently the 4th most-watched TV show on HBO Max worldwide. The psychological drama series leaves behind shows like Privileges, The Passion, Doc, and more. The only three series above Euphoria on HBO Max’s global chart are new shows DTF St. Louis and Rooster, both with stacked casts, and The Pitt, which is currently airing its second season.

Euphoria‘s new streaming success comes early for the HBO series. The reason is due to how the show was expected to surge on the streamer with the release of its third season, but it is now doing so before any new episodes drop on the platform. Euphoria season 3, which sees the return of stars like Sweeney, Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and more, debuts on HBO on Sunday, April 12.

At the time of writing, Euphoria is trending in 33 countries, which is no small feat. While the psychological thriller series does not rank as HBO Max’s most-watched in any of those countries, that is expected to change when Euphoria season 3 debuts. For now, the drama series’ highest position is 2nd, which comes from three countries: Bolivia, Chile, and Nicaragua.

Before Euphoria season 3 arrives, the Sydney Sweeney series is also experiencing a resurgence in the United States. Currently, Euphoria stands as the 4th most-watched TV show on HBO Max nationwide. The psychological thriller series ranks higher than shows like The Comeback, Born to Bowl, and more. Just like in the global chart, it is surpassed by DTF St. Louis, Rooster, and The Pitt.

While reviews for Euphoria season 3 have yet to come out, the drama series’ streaming success continues the show’s hit run. On Rotten Tomatoes, Euphoria holds a high 87% critics’ score, with a slightly lower 83% audience score. As the show returns this weekend, Euphoria should climb even higher on HBO Max’s charts.
