Best known for his role as Rocky Balboa in the Rocky and Creed movies and also for playing John Rambo, Sylvester Stallone is undoubtedly one of the greatest action stars in Hollywood history. In recent years, Stallone has focused primarily on his Taylor Sheridan-written TV series, Tulsa King, which has already aired three full seasons on Paramount Plus. Stallone took to his personal Instagram earlier this year to share the first look at Tulsa King Season 4, and while it’s still without an official release date, it’s expected to premiere before the end of this year. Stallone has also picked up extra fame for his role as Barney in The Expendables movies, which also feature big stars like Jason Statham. However, when any actor has been in movies as long as Stallone, it’s only natural that there will be some misses mixed in with the hits.
In the last few years, Stallone has had a rough go at things outside of his time in the Taylor Sheridan universe on Paramount. Last year, he starred alongside Scott Eastwood and Mike Colter in the action thriller Alarum, which is one of the few movies to hold a 0% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. The year before, he teamed up with Jeff Chase and Josh Wiggins for another maligned action thriller, Armor, which holds an equally awful 0% from critics on the aggregate site. Armor has since found a home streaming for free on Tubi in America, and the film has also surged into the top 10 on Starz in a few countries. It’s finding redemption as much as it can after also grossing less than $1 million at the box office.

Is Sylvester Stallone in ‘I Play Rocky’?
Sylvester Stallone is not involved in the new docudrama, I Play Rocky, which is coming to theaters later this year on November 20. Anthony Ippolito has been cast as a young Stallone in the film, and the likeness is uncanny.Toby Kebbell and AnnaSophia Robb will also star in the film as Robert Chartoff and Sasha Czack. Peter Gamble wrote the script for I Play Rocky and Peter Farrelly directed the film. While Stallone is not involved, he has given the project his blessing and encouraged fans to go see it when it arrives in theaters.
