Ted Lasso Season 4 Debuts To New Series-Record Rotten Tomatoes Score

One of the biggest Apple TV shows starring Jason Sudeikis has finally returned for its next era in 2026.

It has been more than three years since Ted Lasso season 3 finished its run, as it was initially conceived as the official ending of the beloved series. However, as the world made it clear that they were not ready to see the sports dramedy leave already, the story is officially continuing on Apple TV.

Ted Lasso season 4 has officially premiered this week with episode 1, “Home,” on the Apple-owned streaming platform. As critics are sharing their reviews on the Sudeikis-starring series, the Rotten Tomatoes score has debuted at 75%.

As of writing, the 75% score is based on 24 submitted reviews from members of the press. Therefore, it’s key to take into account that the rating is subject to change, meaning the % can get higher and lower as more critics continue to register their scores for Ted Lasso season 4.

The audience score has yet to debut for the series, as it will be revealed once more viewers have registered their ratings for the latest season on Apple TV. While it has started as the lowest-rated season through its early Rotten Tomatoes rating from critics, there are still many reasons to be excited for Ted Lasso’s return.

In ScreenRant’s Ted Lasso season 4 review, Kara Hedash rated it 8/10, sharing how the show’s 2026 return “might be focused on a new team, but it carries the same Ted Lasso charm viewers have grown to love. The story of AFC Richmond and the Lady Greyhounds surely won’t have a satisfying finish with just one season, leaving hope that the series has plans to keep growing this new era of Ted Lasso.” Hedash also teases that the new episodes do “feature a few fun cameos that fans will likely welcome, but rest assured knowing that these guests don’t overwhelm the story.”

While time will tell how the world responds to the new story, the leading star, who also co-created the series, has hinted that there could be more seasons after this year. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sudeikis made it clear that “I know I needed this. I needed it as much as other people do,” as he has another three-season plan in mind, even though Apple TV has not greenlit Ted Lasso season 5 yet.

Several returning Ted Lasso characters who are confirmed for season 4 include Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Willis Beard, and Juno Temple as Keeley Jones. Unlike the previous two seasons, the new one will consist of 10 episodes and will release weekly until October 7.
