BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand’s economy expanded 2.3% in the second quarter from a year earlier, official data showed on Monday, beating analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll for 2.1% growth.
On a quarterly basis, Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy grew a seasonally adjusted 0.8% in the April-June quarter, data from the National Economic and Social Development Council showed, just below the market forecast of 0.9% growth.
In the first quarter of 2024, GDP grew an upwardly revised 1.6% on the year and 1.2% on the quarter.
