Walmart just put out a smoking deal on a high-end monitor. For a limited time, you can pick up a 27″ ASUS ROG STRIX QHD 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor (XG27AQDMESZ) for just $349 free shipping. This is a new model from ASUS that strips out some features in order to bring the premium OLED panel to a wider audience. We’ve seen it before with the Alienware AW2726DM monitor, which has similar specs for the same price. Even better, this monitor comes with a three year warranty that includes OLED burn-in coverage. and ASUS’ rapid replacement cross shipping service
27″ ASUS ROG STRIX 240Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor for $350
The ASUS ROG STRIX is a 27″ monitor with a 2560×1440 resolution and a pixel density of 111ppi, which is sharp enough for both gaming and general workstation use with excellent text clarity. This monitor is also equipped with Samsung’s quantum dot (QD) OLED panel. A QD OLED panel is brighter and has a wider color gamut than the more commonly found W-OLED panel. OLED monitors in general offer superior image quality compared to other monitors thanks to a combination of instantaneous response time, near-infinite black levels, and near-infinite contrast ratio.
Most “budget” OLED monitors have a native 120Hz-165Hz refresh rate, but the ASUS ROG STRIX ups the ante with a native 240Hz panel, making it a great choice for games that have high-speed motion or require twitch-like reflexes (like sports games and first person shooters). You’ll need to make sure you have an appropriate graphics card to achieve 240fps on a QHD monitor, ideally something like an RTX 5070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, although an RTX 5070 should be able to hit this target in older games like The Witcher 3, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Counter-Strike, or Valorant.
Finally, the ASUS ROG STRIX does include a 3 year warranty that includes burn-in coverage, which matches the industry’s best. Burn-in is less of an issue than it used to be because there are built-in, automated features designed to prevent it, but it can still happen. In addition, ASUS’ rapid replacement policy means that the company will send out a new monitor at the same time you ship yours, reducing the downtime from your all-essential gaming.
