The Boys memorable, and often gross, five-season run has finally drawn to a close on Prime Video, and it’s fair to say that it was a very fun ride while it lasted. The adventures of Billy Butcher, Mother’s Milk, Hughie and the rest of the gang were pretty unlike anything else on the streaming service, and it did a great job of closing things out before outstaying its welcome.
That said, it’s now a huge franchise as a result of the success of the show, and there’s no way that it’s going to disappear quietly into the night. The Vought Rising spin-off is already confirmed and underway, and we’ve now also had an original game and a bunch of other releases aiming to strike while the iron’s hot.
Now, they’re all set to show up somewhere else entirely, and it’s perhaps not super surprising when you think about it.
Over on YouTube, the official Call of Duty: Mobile channel uploaded a video confirming that their game is about to launch into an official collaboration with The Boys. Several of the show’s characters will be usable in the game as a result, along with customized version of existing weapons that match their overall aesthetic.
Starlight is leading the line with her customized Sten gun known as Starlight Radiance. Black Noir also joins the fray, with a genuinely cool version of the DQ33 called Noir Shadow. The last of the three Supes available to players is the big bad himself, Homelander, who enters the game carrying a version of the DRH called Homelander Pride.
The Operators are available to pick up via their own dedicated and unique Lucky Draws this time around, so that is something to be aware of before you head into the game.
As part of that, the game also comes with a dual faction event where players can either be “The Boys” or “Dawn of the Seven” to unlock free rewards. There is also a new time-limited mode known as Vought Royale, in which players are given access to special superpowers and special armored vehicles.
The collaboration went down very well with fans responding to the reveal trailer, with one labeling it “absolute cinema,” and another saying, “The pose Homelander does before he flies is just perfect.”
“No way they did that: Roze and Black Noir. The similarity between them and Who’s the #1 sweaty skin. Cinema,” a third said.
The event is live right now if you want to get involved, with Call of Duty: Mobile and The Boys running together throughout Season 5 of the game. As with all of these things, however, be prepared to spend some of your money if you want to get all the new.
