The highly-rated Nikon Z5 II just dropped to a record-low price at Adorama

The best mirrorless cameras are rarely discounted. In fact, with recent tariffs, we’ve actually seen many models selling for more than they were listed for at launch. That’s why we’re super stoked, if not a little relieved, to let you know that the Nikon Z5 II has dropped at Adorama to $1,596.95 (was $1,849).

That’s a record-low price on what was already one of 2025’s best-value mirrorless cameras. We also scored it 4.5 out of five stars in our review, which makes it one of the most highly rated cameras that we tested this year.

Nikon Z5 II when he reviewed it earlier this year. We called the first iteration “the best entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera right now,” and the Mark II only further cements its status.

On paper, the Z5 II’s autofocus is now roughly equivalent to the higher-end Z-mount bodies like the Z6 III, the Zf, and even the Z8. In addition, its 24.5MP backside-illuminated sensor is capable of capturing 4K video at 30fps and 11fps in continuous shooting mode. There are faster mirrorless cameras around, but oftentimes you’ll need to pay a premium for them.

We also love the “extremely solid build quality, top-notch ergonomics, and a rapidly expanding Z-Mount lens ecosystem.” It really is hard to believe that you can now get all this for under $1,600.

Buying one of the best cameras for photography isn’t cheap, which is why we recommend researching a range of options. If you’d like something a little more portable, then we have a dedicated guide to all the best travel cameras.
