The older but still excellent Garmin Vivoactive 5 tumbles to a record-low price on Amazon

A quick look at our guide to the best running watches will show you that Garmin is streets ahead of the rest, occupying the top spot in five out of the ten categories. Even though it’s older now, one of our favorites is still the last-generation Garmin Vivoactive 5, which is now on sale at Amazon for $184.99 (was $299.99).

That’s a record-low price for a smartwatch with a bright AMOLED screen, built-in GPS, music controls, and up to 11 days of battery life.

You could shoot for the more up-to-date Vivoactive 6, but that’ll set you back up to $299.99. That’s still a good price for an all-around smartwatch, but if you’re looking for a top-class deal, then I’d go for the previous-gen Vivoactive 5 while it’s on offer instead.

In our four-star Garmin Vivoactive 5 review, we loved the smartwatch’s fitness tracking, battery life, and sleek design. Despite being superseded by the Vivoactive 6, it’s still one of the best Garmin watches right now, especially at this price point.

We also love its compatibility for both Apple and Android users, which makes it a superb fit for all types of people, including runners, cyclists, and triathletes.
