Yes, the newer Sony XM6s are now available, but at full price, they are a whopping $200 more than the previous generation XM5. And while the newer model does have some nice upgrades like a more balanced sound, stronger noise cancellation, and a convenient foldable design, the XM5s are still some incredible quality headphones — especially at this price.

With the older XM4s now discontinued as well, these are some of the best value noise-canceling headphones you can buy, rivaling similar options from the likes of Bose and Nothing. With the deal set to expire in a matter of hours, I’d jump on it while you can.

When we originally reviewed the Sony WH-1000XM5s, we called them ‘the best in the business.’ They are still a top option today, and with this latest price drop at Amazon, they become some of the most affordable and best value noise-canceling headphones out there.

They had started to fall behind some models due to the high starting price, but they are a much more competitive choice now that they’ve dropped under $250. That puts them in a similar price bracket to the Bose QuietComfort Headphones and the Sennheiser Momentum 4. Both are solid choices as well, but the XM5s do best them in certain areas.
