These tiny and cheap accessories make the Pulse Explore earbuds even more perfect for the PlayStation Portal

It’s nearly two years since my in-depth review of the PlayStation Pulse Explore earbuds was published, and I still use them regularly, particularly with my PlayStation Portal. However, adding this one tiny, cheap audio accessory has meant that the Explore earbuds are even more perfect — and more comfortable than ever.

One of my few gripes with the Pulse Explores out of the box was the fit, particularly when wearing them for long stints. So, during my review process, I added some third-party foam tips to the earbuds, and, just like that, the level of comfort was taken to a brand-new level. They have fixed my complaint totally, and I’ve not looked back since, and they are still in use today.

These are really cheap too, which is excellent. There are loads of options, but the Control 200 foam earbud tips I got are my preferred ones, and only cost $14.85 at Amazon (or £14.99 in the UK). The other IiEXCEL set I have to hand is a slightly different shape, but are also really affordable at only $9.99 at Amazon (and £15.88 in the UK). Both offer a few sizes and are easy to apply as well.

Out of the two, I have greater long-term success with the more cylindrical Comply 200 earbud tips, but that’s likely due to my own ear shape. I’m still very glad I tried the others, and still have them to hand should I need replacements.
