Harlan Coben’s Lazarus is now streaming on Prime Video, but don’t think that means Netflix‘s Harlan Coben Collection isn’t getting an update. New series Run Away is set to join the ranks of Fool Me Once and Missing You, debuting on New Year’s Day 2026.
Details are unsurprisingly sparse, but it’s a likely faithful adaptation of Coben’s book of the same name. As the author said in a statement to Netflix: “Run Away is about family – about what we will do to keep our family intact, what secrets we keep within our family, and what secrets we keep as a family.
“Every time you walk past the house, there’s a whole universe that goes on behind that door and none of us have a clue what it is.”
Run Away will stick to Netflix and novel formula while Lazarus is a completely original story

Harlan Coben is working with Netflix and Prime Video simultaneously in exactly the way I hoped he would: Prime Video is getting original content, while Netflix stays the home of the book adaptations.
However, I think the latter will continue to be much stronger than the former. Perhaps it’s a case of ‘first the worst’ when it comes to Coben’s and co-writer Danny Brocklehurst’s scripts, but while Lazarus wasn’t terrible, it still left a lot to be desired.
I asked Coben if there’s ever a sense of pressure that comes with delivering a new TV show, especially now we’ve come to expect a jaw-dropping water cooler moment thanks to the phenomenal success of Fool Me Once.
“No, I don’t [think there is]. We just do the best we can with each with each project,” he tells me. “They’re all different. I mean, obviously Fool Me Once was enormous. None of us expected it to go so big, and it was fantastic.
“I don’t think you can necessarily expect that you’re going to have that kind of hit every time, although we do obviously aspire to be as popular and successful as we can be.”
Honestly, I think it’s the return to form in Run Away that’s likely to bring Coben back to TV glory, and I’d put money on this being the case even though I haven’t even seen it yet.
With James Nesbitt (who returns from Missing You), Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver and Alfred Enoch making up the core cast, there’s a lot to be excited about.
