Move over, Tom Hanks. Netflix is bringing the novels of Dan Brown to streaming in a new series, and they’ve found a Gilded Age star to fill the shoes of Hanks, who starred in three films as crusading professor Robert Langdon.

Created by Brown in 2000’s Angels and Demons, Langdon is a professor of symbology (a fictional discipline that studies historical symbols and religious iconography). The character really hit the big time in 2003’s The Da Vinci Code, which was quickly adapted into a blockbuster Ron Howard film starring Hanks as Langdon.

Morgan Spector will star as Langdon in the new series, which will be based on Brown’s 2025 novel The Secret of Secrets.
