Bering Air plane with 10 people aboard vanished in Alaska on Thursday, triggering a search and rescue effort. The Alaska Department of Public Safety said the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, run by Bering Air, was traveling from Unalakleet to Nome. The plane had nine passengers and one pilot. It disappeared around 4 pm local time. Flight data shows the plane left Unalakleet at 2:37 pm and last communicated at 3:16 pm over Norton Sound, according to KTUU. Search crews are trying to reach the location of the last transmission.
