Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV is more than just a massive fight for the British heavyweight title at Vaillant Live Arena in Derby, UK. TKV has his eyes on bigger prizes beyond even the Lonsdale belt. The 32-year-old’s family hail from DR Congo – formerly known as Zaire and the venue for the iconic Rumble in the Jungle between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman – and the Tottenham-born Brit fancies a fight back in Africa where his grandfather was a key figure in Mobutu Sese Seko’s authoritarian regime in Zaire. First, he’ll need to get past Clarke in his second successive fight for the British title after being outgunned last time out by David Adeleye in the sixth round.

The bout was originally scheduled for October 25, but TKV picked up a rib injury in training which pushed the fight back a month. Clarke vs TKV weigh-in results

There was a bit stare down between the pair at yesterday’s weigh-in, with Clarke and TKV at one point having to be separated by security.

Clarke weighed in at 19st 4lb 2oz, while the naturally smaller TKV tipped the scales at 18st 12lb 9oz.

“Emotions are high,” Clarke said. “We’re ready to fight. I say what I say, more importantly do what I need to do. There’s no respect for now. He’s nothing to me, just an opponent.”

TKV, meanwhile, is trying to get in his opponent’s head and disrupt. “That is the game,” he said. “The whole game is to rattle Frazer and mission accomplished. He’s going to fight with emotions. He probably isn’t going to follow the game plan, once he’s rattled he won’t be the same fighter in the ring.”
