Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has cemented itself as one of the most popular entries in Ubisoft’s sweeping franchise due to the overwhelming anticipation fans have for its rumored remake—a game that has not even been officially announced, mind you. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake rumors have sailed the high seas for a while now, but cannons may be prepared to fire soon with a big reveal on the horizon.
According to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson and ResetERA user BlackBate, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s remake, apparently dubbed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, will not be hiding in the shadows for much longer. It will seemingly be one of the industry’s worst-kept secrets when it eventually does get revealed, yet it is no less thrilling that Assassin’s Creed fans may soon have a terrific reason to return to sea shanties, swashbuckling pirate activities, and a nostalgic heyday of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
The Black Flag Remake Announcement Is Imminent
If true, we will be seeing the reveal of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced on April 16. This is particularly intriguing, as well, with a PlayStation State of Play rumored to be airing that same day.
User Anstark0 believes it is about time that Ubisoft embraced remakes: “Ubisoft should have had the ball rolling earlier with these remakes, but Black Flag being the 1st remake certainly gets people excited, I imagine.” The buzz around this remake truly has been remarkable, with Ubisoft likely being fully aware of how beloved Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is compared to many other installments in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced was technically soft-announced already when it was given its most explicit tease thus far via head of content Jean Guesdon on an official Ubisoft blog, accompanied by a piece of art with a Resynced logo:
“Speculation around Assassin’s Creed is not new, but it’s worth repeating: ‘Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.’ Well, except in this case, some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon.”
So, for a proper reveal to finally be so close is a treat for fans. As for when the remake will launch, the wait may not be all that much longer.
When Does The Black Flag Remake Come Out?
As per these rumors, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced supposedly has a scheduled release window of FY 2027 Q2, “which is anywhere from June to August of this year,” that may or may not be announced alongside the reveal. That means there may merely be roughly three months between Black Flag Resynced’s reveal and its release date, so long as it is not delayed.
