Wednesday season 3 has officially been confirmed by Netflix, so fans can rest easy knowing their favorite misanthropic protagonist isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

The first season of Wednesday was released in November 2022 and continues to be Netflix’s most-watched English TV show, and despite viewership figures dropping slightly during the second season’s first week of streaming, its fan base remains sizable.

Does Wednesday season 3 have a release date?

Wednesday season 3 does not have a confirmed release date yet. Currently it’s too early and with season 2 only just released on the streamer, we’ll likely have a little while to wait.

There was three years between season 1 and season 2, so hopefully the next one is a speedier process. According to Production List: “season 3 has officially opened its writers’ room, and Netflix has scheduled principal photography to begin in Spring 2026, with confirmed shooting in Wicklow, Ireland.”

Once we have more information about a release, we’ll let you know.

Is there a trailer for Wednesday season 3?

It’s far too early for a trailer yet. All we have so far is the renewal announcement featuring a poster of Wednesday and Thing.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for one, though, even if we do have to wait a while.

Based on who survived in Wednesday season 2, we can certainly speculate who is returning for the third season.

What is the plot of Wednesday season 3?

Wednesday season 2 was an explosive chapter in the series where we got to learn more about the Addams family themselves, uncover a shady new school principal and more secrets from in and out the Nevermore Academy walls.

Season 2 part 2 was released on one of the best streaming services on September 3 and if you’re anything like me, you’ve likely binged it already. But don’t worry, season 3 is coming and we won’t be left on that huge cliffhanger.

To recap what happened, Wednesday season 2 concluded on a cliffhanger, with Wednesday traveling with her Uncle Fester and Thing to try and track down her friend Enid and help make her human again.

In the gripping finale we saw Enid taking a huge risk to save Wednesday, as she transformed into a werewolf which put her at risk of becoming an alpha and thus unable to return back to her human form.

Outside of that, Tyler accepted an invitation to join a secret pack of Hydes after the death of his mother, and Wednesday’s grandmother was revealed to be holding her Aunt Ophelia prisoner, and she isn’t dead after all.

With all this in mind, there’s plenty scope for new stories and we have plenty of questions that need answering, so I’m sure the plot will focus on many of these loose ends.

Speaking about the renewal, co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough teased in a press release: “Our goal for season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.
