Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Switch 2 Official Developer Splits Gamers

[

During the most recent Nintendo Direct Showcase, a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake was finally announced after months of speculation and rumors. Set to reimagine the beloved 1998 Zelda classic, it will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, allowing fans to re-immerse themselves in the magical world of Hyrule, as well as act as a way to introduce brand-new players to the franchise.

However, with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time being widely regarded as the best Zelda entry, as well as one of the greatest video games of all time, there is currently a lot of pressure on Nintendo’s shoulders, especially when it comes to the artstyle they have chosen for the remake. With some fans wanting an entirely next-gen remake with almost photorealistic graphics, others want Ocarina of Time to retain its original aesthetic. As such, I would not want to be in Nintendo’s shoes at the moment.

Nevertheless, there are just a few months to go until we are expected to welcome The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2, and with just a brief teaser trailer to go alongside it, it will hopefully not be long until we see our first official look at the new-and-improved gameplay we can expect.

In the meantime, fans over on r/zelda have been asking one important question: In-House or 3rd Party? “Will it end up being developed in-house, by Nintendo, or mostly by a 3rd party?” One fan asked. “I’m fine either way, because I wasn’t going to play it, however, VELAN did a fantastic job on Star Fox, so I’m sure it’ll be alright if it’s not done mostly by Nintendo, and instead a 3rd party. That being said, Nintendo themselves would probably do it perfectly, just like the original. So I wonder which it will be, and also which it should be, 3rd party or Nintendo?”

With over 200 comments despite only being posted yesterday, it is safe to say that Zelda fans have their thoughts on who should be in charge of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.

“Well, if they are going to make gameplay or level design changes, I hope it is made by Nintendo themselves,” the top comment reads. “If it is only going to be a graphic remake, then I’m fine with it being a third-party developer.”

Another said, “Someone brought up on a YouTube video I saw a few days ago that all of the major Switch 2 projects have been 3rd party developments and that they’d assume it’s because their primary in-house team are working on this.”

At the moment, we do not currently know who is working on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, but with a lot of hope riding on its shoulders, we hope that Nintendo has made the right decision when it comes to handling this masterpiece of a game.
