‘Zeta’ Sequel Among Local Titles On Prime Video Spain’s 2027 Slate

Prime Video Spain execs announced last night during a presentation in Madrid that the thriller Zeta has become its most-watched local feature title, and it has greenlit a Zeta sequel as part of its latest slate of originals.

Dani de la Torre will once again return to direct the feature, with Mario Casas and Luis Zahera also returning as leads. The streamer’s local Spanish feature slate also includes Si los muertos hablaran, a whodunnit that will be shot this summer between Madrid and Kenya. Directed by Nacho Velilla, the film stars Carmen Machi, Hugo Silva, Megan Montaner and Maribel Verdú.

Prime Video has also greenlit a feature adaptation of the third book in Mercedes Ron’s Dímelo trilogy. The first film, Enfrentados: Marfil, directed by Oscar Pedraza and starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García, premieres this September. The second film, Dímelo en secreto, is set for a 2027 release. Dímelo con besos will be the third film.

On the TV side, Prime Video will produce the true crime series Mataleón, a four-episode series inspired by the 2014 murder of Spanish politician Isabel Carrasco. The series will be written by Lucía Carballal, Laia Foguet and María Bastarós and star Najwa Nimri.

The streamer has also added Cuando solo quedemos nosotros, a new series based on Inés Garber’s novel, to its original scripted slate. Described as a “psychological thriller with romantic undertones,” the project follows nine strangers who find themselves locked in a mansion, forced to take part in a deadly game. The series will be directed by Samantha López and star Judith Fernández and Pau Simón.
