This officially made it one of Hollywood’s most commercially successful franchises and confirmed Twilight as one of the defining blockbuster series of its era.
Critical opinion remained divided, but it was arguably the strongest-reviewed entry in the series, holding a 49% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes — that feels like damning it with faint praise to be honest. Again, this is a series not designed for critics. Meanwhile, audiences were significantly more enthusiastic. It received an A CinemaScore, alongside a 70% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with many viewers praising its finale and the utterly bonkers final battle that delivered one of the biggest surprises in the entire saga.
