Android fans left baffled as Google launches new Snapseed camera for iPhone

    • Snapseed has received a major update on iPhone
    • This adds a camera toggle and manual controls
    • However, this update hasn’t come to Android

Snapseed — a photo editor made by Google — hasn’t been updated on Android since May of 2024, yet the iPhone version got a major overhaul in June of 2025, and has now received another big update, this time turning it into a full-blown camera app.

That update gives you a camera icon in the top right corner of the app, which when tapped opens a viewfinder and lets you snap photos. Technically this isn’t entirely new, as Snapseed added a camera feature back in December, but for some reason only made it accessible via widgets and shortcuts, rather than from within the Snapseed app.
